Gawain played a pivotal role in the amalgamation of ATL and NUT into the NEU. As an active member of UNIFY for many years, he is keen to take this forwards towards greater unity. This I believe should be the overriding priority of the NEU and Gawain is the best candidate to take this forward. 

As a Trustee and Secretary of the National Education Museum, I am very pleased that Gawain is also a Trustee. This is an exciting project which will include the history of the struggle for education and the role of trade unions in this.
